Terilou Tornero-James

Terilou Lourdes Tornero James, 66, passed away on May 18th after a long and courageous battle with multiple illnesses. Despite her challenges, she remained a beacon of kindness, often with a smile and sharing words of encouragement. Her love, strength and positive spirit will be deeply missed.

She’s survived by her loving daughter Lorei Kwok and her husband Chi; her loving daughter Hailie Velazco Seaton, her husband Roy and their children Hayden, Avery and Mason; and her son Ralcy Velazco, his wife and their child. She’s also survived by the love of her life, David James; her brother Rogelio Tornero, his wife Marta and their children Mike and Carlos; and her brother Maurice Tornero and sister-in-law Abbe Godwin.

Terilou was predeceased by her brothers Lino and Ricardo Tornero and her parents Rogelio and Maria Graciela Tornero.

In 2021, Terilou moved to New York from Alabama to be with Lorei and Chi as she faced her numerous health battles with unwavering determination and love. She cherished her family and loved dogs. She also enjoyed cooking, shopping, road trips and being with family.

Her loving spirit and courage left an indelible mark on all who knew her. She loved deeply and was deeply loved. She will be profoundly missed and remain in our hearts forever.
