Teresita Aguilar

Teresita “Mina” Garcia Aguilar passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones, leaving behind a legacy of love, joy, and dedication to her family, faith, and community.

Born on October 8, 1954, in Camiling, Tarlac, Philippines, to Felipe David Garcia and Cristita Celario, Mina’s life was a vibrant journey of resilience, warmth, and purpose. She married her beloved husband, Efrenio Aguilar, on January 26, 1971, beginning a beautiful 50-year partnership that stood as a testament to enduring love.

In 1974, Mina immigrated to California, where she worked in the agricultural fields before building a long and dedicated 25-year career at Yoder Brothers in Salinas. Her work ethic was only surpassed by her generosity and boundless care for those around her.  Mina found joy in the simple pleasures of life: dancing, singing karaoke, gardening, sewing, and cooking. Her happiest moments were those spent in the company of her family and friends.

Deeply rooted in her faith and civic spirit, she was a proud member of the YLI, Our Lady of Solitude Eucharistic Ministers, Filipino American association of central California and the Laoaguenians community group.  She is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Efrenio Aguilar of Soledad, who stood by her side with unwavering love. She leaves behind her cherished sons, Michael and Marvyn, whose lives she shaped with care and strength. Her memory lives on through her beloved

grandchildren—Michael, Noah, Mikaylah and her fiancé Abraham Ventura, and Nathanael—each of whom brought joy to her heart and pride to her soul.

She is also mourned by her mother, Cristita Garcia of New York. Her beloved brother Roger and his wife Lily, along with their children Francis and Christian Garcia of the Philippines, held a special place in her heart. Likewise, her sister Merlita Lachica and husband Gervace, and their child Jhermal of New York. Though she has departed from this world, her legacy of love, laughter, and kindness lives on in every life she touched.  Mina’s warmth, laughter, and kindness graced all who knew her. Her life was a beautiful melody—a dance of love and strength that continues to echo in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

A celebration of Mina’s life will be held on July 7th at Woodyard Funeral Home 395 East St, Soledad, CA 93960. Viewing: July 7, 2025 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM. Rosary to follow at 6:00 PM July 8, 2025 Mass: 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Solitude Church Reception held at: 761 Terraza Street Soledad California.

All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend and share memories.  In Honor of Mina’s deep love for blooms, the family kindly invites those who wish to bring flowers to do so at her burial on July 8, 2025, where they may be placed at her gravesite in loving tribute.
