Tara Huck

Tara Leigh Huck, of Wellington, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at the age of 56.

Tara was born the daughter of Lin and Linda (Van Pelt) Briley on June 5, 1969 in Wellington, Kansas.

Her love for her family was immense, and she was particularly proud of her grandson, who was the apple of her eye. Engaging and ready with a smile, Tara was the embodiment of the good in the world. She also found joy in the thrill of the casino, and she had a unique fascination for collecting random items that piqued her interest. Tara’s life was marked by the simple pleasures that brought her joy and the love she shared with those around her.

Tara’s love for life was evident in her numerous hobbies. She was an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, Royals and the Oklahoma Sooners, cheering them on with unwavering loyalty. Her adventurous spirit led her to the beauty of the open road, whether she was travelling across the United States or simply cruising down the back roads near her home in Wellington, Kansas.

Survivors include her daughters, Cassandra Huck and Ashleigh (Sabastian) Huck; grandson, Braxen Caudillo; sister, Melissa (Tim) Sprueill; niece, Briley (Chaz) Sprueill; nephew, Dylan (Jessica) Sprueill; uncle, Shane Briley; aunt, Donna Van Pelt; and companion, Gene Huck.

Tara is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Lin and Linda Briley; sister, Lori Wagoner; and grandparents, Leona Whomans; Lefty and Winnie Van Pelt.

A celebration of life will take place at the Wellington V.F.W.Hall, 424 E. Harvey Ave., Wellington, KS 67152 on Friday, October 24, 2025 at 4:00 pm.
