With profound love and cherished memories, we announce the passing of Tamara “Tammy” Ospina, a beacon of joy and strength, who left us on September 26, 2025, at the age of 52. Born on April 16, 1973, in Queens, NY, Tammy’s laughter and love filled the lives of those around her until her final days in Stratford, CT, where she courageously battled breast cancer.
Tammy’s life was a testament to her unwavering dedication to her family, her career, and her faith. As the beloved daughter of Margoth Ospina and Alberto Ospina (predeceased), and sister to William Ospina, she learned early the value of close family ties. This foundation of love was extended to her own children, Benjamin, Sebastian, and David, who were the pride and joy of her life. Her nieces, April and Lia, along with Pluto, the family dog, also shared in the warmth of her affection.
After graduating from Sacred Heart University, Tammy embarked on a career that would see her rise through the ranks to become a respected quality assurance supervisor at The Family Security Plan. Her remarkable work ethic and commitment to excellence were matched only by her ability to bring laughter and lightness to the office, making her a beloved figure among her colleagues.
A devout Catholic, Tammy’s faith was a cornerstone of her existence, guiding her actions and providing comfort during the most challenging times. She embodied Catholic virtues through her loving nature, selflessness, and the joy she brought to others.
Tammy’s love for life was evident in her diverse interests. She was an ardent New York Yankees fan, never missing a chance to cheer on her favorite baseball team. Soccer games were also a source of excitement and bonding with her sons. Her creative spirit shone through in her knitting, a hobby that allowed her to create warmth in more ways than one. Film was another passion, with movie nights being a cherished ritual in the Ospina household.
Described by those who knew her as loving, funny, and selfless, Tammy’s humor and generosity knew no bounds. She was a mother not only to her sons but to all who needed one. Her ability to listen, uplift, and spread happiness was a gift to all who crossed her path.
Tammy’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and the unspoken acts of kindness that defined her character. She has left an indelible mark on the hearts of her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. As we bid farewell to Tammy, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a spirit that will continue to inspire us every day.
We take comfort in the knowledge that Tammy’s love will forever be our guide, and her memory will be eternally etched in the annals of our hearts. Though she has departed from this earthly realm, her light remains undimmed, illuminating the path for those she has left behind. Rest in peace, dear Tammy; your journey has been nothing short of extraordinary.
In loving memory of Tammy, in lieu of flowers, we invite you to honor her legacy with a contribution to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF): give.bcrf.org, Susan G Komen: komen.org or St Jude Children’s Research Hospital: stjude.org in lieu of flowers.
