Sylvania Villines

Sylvania Villines, 83, of Compton, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Cox Medical Center in Branson, Missouri.

She was born on August 10, 1942, at Parthenon, to Virgil and Iva Henderson Willis. On January 4, 1965, she married the love of her life, Perry Lee Villines, at Kansas City, Missouri, where they met and started their family. They later moved back to Arkansas and made their home in Newton County for many years.

Sylvania was a homemaker who dedicated her life to raising her children and helping care for her grandchildren. She loved flowers, enjoyed crocheting, and could often be found chasing her grandchildren around. She was a “heck of a cook” and truly cherished time spent with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and an infant brother.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Beth Villines of Harrison; a daughter and son-in-law, Lesa and Verl Davidson of Compton; four grandchildren, Terran (Kayla) Villines of Bear Creek, Daylawna Davidson of Compton, Whitney (David) Rupp of Harrison, and Tyler (Kirstie) Baker of Harrison; six great-grandchildren, Gracie and Nora Villines of Bear Creek, Aubree and Maci Rupp, and Ella and Brady Baker, all of Harrison; a sister, Ina (Claude) VanCuren of Fayetteville; and many other relatives and friends.

A memorial visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Holt Memorial Chapel. Burial will be private in Beechwoods Cemetery at Ponca.  Arrangements are under the direction of Holt Memorial Chapel.
