Sue Duvall

Sue Duvall age 85 years, 8 months, and 15 days passed away Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the Jean Waddle Care center in Somerset, Kentucky, and was placed in the care of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.

Funeral services were held Thursday, July 17, 2025, in the chapel of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Angel Cemetery.

She was born October 29, 1939, in Marshes Siding, Kentucky to John and Myrtle Waters Chitwood. Sue was a member of the Pleasant Rock Baptist Church; Sue’s faith was an important part of her life. Sue spent 25 years working at the shirt factory in McCreary County and about 10 years working at the air bag factory. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life spending time with family, attending church, gardening, and fishing.

Preceding her in death were her parents, loving husband, Morton Duvall Sr., to whom she was married 46 years, son, Morton Duvall Jr., brothers, Abe Chitwood, Ernest Chitwood, Lawrence Chitwood, Henry Chitwood, Larry Chitwood, and Jimmy Chitwood, and son-in-law, Rick Griffis.

Survivors include daughters, Margaret Griffis and Molly Ledbetter, and husband, Cecil, son, Jeff Duvall, and wife, Gail, brothers, John Chitwood and Jack Chitwood, and wife, Janice, sisters, Mary Jo Sharp, Vada Jean Huff, Ila Corder, and husband, Gary, and Elaine Stoker, and husband, Eddie, grandchildren, Cynthia Duvall, Ricky J. Griffis, Monica Sue Phillips, and husband, Adam, Chad Duvall, and wife, Sandy, Chanda Duvall, Rebecca Thomas, Cory Duvall, Brittney Deets, and Jacob T. Griffis, great grandchildren, Samuel Phillips, Gabriel Phillips, Christian Duvall, Damian Thomas, Ciera Thomas, Destin Duvall, Brynlee Duvall, Hayden Vaught, Dalton Duvall, Ezekiel Duvall, Gavin Deets, Destiny Walker, Alana Deets, Atticus Duvall, Bella Deets, and Keira Privett, and great great grandchild, James Duvall.
