Steven Vorpahl

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Steven Arnold Vorpahl, age 72, at John Muir Hospital on March 30, 2025, due to complications from a heart valve procedure.
Steven was born on September 14, 1952, to the late Leonard and Elberta (Bourassa) Vorpahl in Appleton Wi. Steven grew up in Appleton and attended St Paul Lutheran School and Fox Valley Lutheran High School. Upon graduation Steven attended the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. There he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife Management.
Steven learned to restore furniture from his father. He ran the family business in Appleton, Wi. for 12 years with his brothers. He returned to California in 1994 and started his own business that he ran until he retired in 2020. He was a master craftsman and took pride in doing the best job for his customers. He often helped friends & family with their projects.
Steven was an active member in his church community. He served his Lord through volunteering his time and talents at Good Sheperd Lutheran Church. Steven had a love of animals and the outdoors. He loved to fish and hunt. He loved dogs and had several pets over the years. He enjoyed collecting coins and was a member of the Diablo Numismatic club. He enjoyed playing cards, cribbage and backgammon.
Steven married Angela in 1984, and they have 2 sons, Benjamin Nicolas (Leah) Vorpahl and Andrew David (Ashlie) Vorpahl. He has 3 grandsons, Issac, Brendan and Liam, whom he adored and loved to take fishing. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife Angela (Scampini) Vorpahl; his sons Benjamin Nicolas (Leah) Vorpahl and Andrew David (Ashlie) Vorpahl and 3 grandsons, Issac, Brendan and Liam. Nieces: Victoria Vorpahl, Renee Vorpahl, Erin Huettl, Karen Johnson, Vickie Johnson, and Elisa Vorpahl. Nephew: Joseph Vorpahl
And his many cousins, whom he enjoyed seeing at the annual family reunion.
He is proceeded in death by his parents: Leonard and Elberta Vorpahl and his brothers: Robert (Althea) Vorpahl, Dennis (Kathy) Vorpahl and Timothy Vorpahl.
Steven will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
