Steven “Steve” A. Miksic
Steven “Steve” died peacefully, surrounded by his family on June 29, 2025, at the age of 74.
Beloved husband of Sharon (nee Busack) for 33 years. Loving dad of Delora Miksic and Jessica Miksic. Dear brother of Thomas (Sandy) Miksic and brother-in-law of Tim (the late Alison) Busack and Julie (Tom) Klem. Also remembered by his nephews, other relatives and friends.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Dolores Miksic; in-laws, Eugene and Nancy Busack; and brothers, Robert (Rick Swiontek) Miksic and Michael Miksic.
Steve grew up surrounded by the beauty of Okauchee Lake, a place he called home and loved deeply. Steve’s early years were marked by his passion for the great outdoors, where he enjoyed waterskiing and fishing.
As the years unfurled, Steve’s interests evolved. He became an avid boater. He believed that the lake was a place where one could find solace and excitement in equal measure. His steady hand and sharp eye also led him to excel in trap shooting, where he found both challenge and camaraderie.
Steven’s ability to strike up a conversation with anyone and everyone was nothing short of remarkable. His talkative nature was a gift, allowing him to make friends in every corner of life, leaving a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to cross his path.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated team at University Hospital in Madison, whose care and supportiveness throughout Steve’s medical treatment were a source of comfort and understanding. Their professionalism and kindness in explaining the complexities of care were invaluable. A special note of thanks is also due to the paramedics’ team of Western Lakes Fire and Rescue for their exemplary service and professionalism in times of need.
Relatives and friends may join the family on Thursday, July 10, at CHURCH AND CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 380 Bluemound Rd., Waukesha, from 4 PM, until the Memorial Service at 6 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
Private inurnment at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield.
