Stephen Sanders

Stephen Michael Sanders was born September 8, 1953 and departed this life on Wednesday, August 20, 2025.

He was born and raised in Atlantic City, New Jersey, to Asalee Sanders. He was called home due to an illness.

Stephen attended New Jersey Avenue School in Atlantic City, New Jersey until he was 21. He started his first job at Mercer Memorial Building until it closed. Then in 1979, he was a part of the opening of Caesars Casino at the age of 26, where he worked until his retirement in 2013. He was known for giving out lucky numbers, playing his Scratch-Off, Pick Three lottery, and also his Lucky 7’s slot machine at Resorts Hotel Casino.

Stephen was kind, loving and caring to others. He liked going to the barber shop (screaming) EAGLES, EAGLES, real loud. He enjoyed watching his television shows, such as various soap operas, wrestling, and football.

For sure, he loved his sister with his whole heart, who he called “Dr. Gail”. Also he loved spending time with his niece and nephews.

Stephen’s warmth, generosity and unwavering love will be deeply missed, but forever remembered.

He is predeceased by his mother, Asalee Sanders; and his uncle, John Sanders, Jr.

He leaves loving memories with his sister, Gail Sanders of Pleasantville; nephew, Donald “DJ” Sanders (Judy) of Egg Harbor Township; niece, Tayonna Sanders of Egg Harbor City; great niece and nephews; and a host of special cousins, other relatives and dear friends.
