Stephen Buchanan

Stephen Mark Buchanan passed away on September 28, 2025. Mark was born on December 29, 1965, in Wake County, North Carolina. He is survived by his parents, Hugh and Kay Buchanan of Fuquay-Varina; sisters, Penny Goodman and husband, Eddie of Willow Spring, Kim Cotten and husband, Jeff of Fuquay-Varina; brother, Chris and wife, Kathy of Holly Springs; nephews, Joseph and Philip Cotten, Mac Goodman; niece, Katie Bellopatrick; and four great nieces and nephews.

He graduated from NC State University through the AG Institute with two associate degrees. His greatest joys in life were his numerous dogs, his nieces and nephews, and being outdoors.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North Ennis Street, Fuquay-Varina. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you plant a tree, shrub or flower to beautify the landscape.
