Stephen Allen

Stephen Robert Allen 85, of Yorkville, IL, passed away peacefully at home on April 25, 2025, surrounded by loving family. Steve was born September 4, 1939 in Chicago, the son of Clarence and Edith (Corey) Allen.

Steve graduated from high school in Fennville, MI, and proudly served in the Marine Corps. He then went on to Coyne College, to study radio and TV repair, and devoted 35 years to building a successful career at Dial Corporation.

Steve was married to Beverly (Linden) for nearly fifty years and together they built a loving extended family, including eleven children, 26 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.

Steve had many hobbies and never sat still. He loved home repair projects, cars, motorcycles, snowmobiling, fishing, and hunting and passed along his interests to each of his sons and grandsons. Steve also had a love of flying, securing a pilot’s license to fly his own plane and ultralight. Most of all he loved his family, always putting them first, and he was blessed with great friendships throughout his life.

Steve is survived by his loving wife, Beverly; children, Laura (Matt) Mangold, Kelly (Doug) Truckenbrod, Stephen (Laurie) Allen, Brian (Rebecca) Allen, and Michael (Heather) Allen; step-daughters, Kathy Crumpton, Sue (Phil) Hicks, Tammy (Mike) Maketa, Vicki (Joe) Albright; grandchildren, Randi Markowski, Zach Truckenbrod, Taylor Truckenbrod, Tanner Allen, Cade Allen, and Austin Allen and many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Preceding Steve in death are his daughter Kristine Markowski and step-daughter Terri (Ivan) Greenwood; parents, Clarence and Edith Allen; brothers, Russ (Juanita) Knutson, Donald (Ellen) Allen, Terry Allen; sisters, Fern Allen and Roxanne (Bill) Lesus.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
