Shirley Gustaveson

Shirley Stroomer Gustaveson, age 94, of Trumbull, beloved wife of the late Warren Oakley Gustaveson, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Sunday June 22, 2025. Shirley was born May 10, 1931, in Bridgeport, daughter of the late John and Mae Alice (Hewitt) Stroomer and was a lifetime Trumbull resident.

Shirley was a retired school bus driver and trainer with the Dunn Bus Company until her Retirement. She enjoyed knitting, gardening and most of all spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her children James Warren (Cheryl) Gustaveson, John David Gustaveson, Charles Oakley Gustaveson; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Shirley was pre-deceased by her daughter Lynn Elizabeth Holly and her husband Solomon G. Holly, her brother-in-law Richard Gustaveson and grandson Richard Mebane.

Shirley will forever be remembered, loved and missed by all that she touched.

At the request of the family all services were private. The William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford, CT. was entrusted with her care.
