Shelby Meade
Shelby Jean Adkins Meade passed from this earthly life August 14, 2025 at Corewell Hospital in Trenton Michigan, making her stay here on earth 87 years 2 months and 14 days. She was born May 31, 1938 at Pikeville, Kentucky the daughter of the late Lawrence Rufus and Josephine Allen Adkins. Shelby retired from the Crysler Corporation as line inspector and more importantly, a Christian belonging to the Community Church
.Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Burbage Meade, one son and daughter-in-law, Charles (Shirley) Meade, Jr., three brothers, Larry Benjamin Toler, Ray Leonard Adkins and Ronald Dean Adkins, as well as two sisters, Donna Sue Adkins and Emmaline Powers along with her husband Lowell.
Shelby is survived by her sons, Terry Lawrence (Cindy) Meade of Michigan, Albert Donald Meade of Florida, daughter, Susan (Joseph) Monteleone of Michigan, six grandchildren, Anna Marie Meade, Chad Douglas (Jackie) Meade, Andrew Lloyd (Christina) Concord, Christopher Charles Concord, Hayley Rose Majlinger and Joshua Donald (Sieara) Meade, eight great grandchildren, Justin, Jordan (Cheyanne), Tyler, Marissa, Makayla, Austin, Paisley Mae, Rhett, three great-great grandchildren, Chase, Mason and Kensley, three Sister-in-Laws, Ann Adkins, Mary Toler, Karen Adkins and many more who lovingly joined the family along the way.
Visitation will be 4-10 PM Wednesday August 20, 2025 at J.W. Call and Son Funeral Home with evening services beginning at 7 PM
Funeral services will be 11 AM Thursday August 21, 2025 at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Justice officiating.
Burial will follow in the Stevens-Adkins Cemetery at Gap Branch Pikeville, Kentucky
