On June 5, 2025, Sharon Milks (Hunter), of Corunna, Michigan, loving wife and mother of five children passed away peacefully at the age of 84 after a life defined by quiet strength and steady commitment as the family’s strong-willed matriarch.
Born on December 6, 1940, in Detroit, MI to Francis and Kathryn Hunter. Her mother passed away at an early age as a result of Tuberculosis. Her father later remarrying to Nancy Grover whom raised Sharon alongside her father and together had two daughters, Sharon’s sisters, Nancy (Tom) Hunter-Edwards and Diane (Rich) Murphy.
Sharon married Wayne Milks in Detroit, MI on December 1, 1962. She and Wayne eventually settled in Corunna MI. Together, they raised 4 sons, Steven (Tonya), Brian (Pamela), Robert (Angela), and Michael (Paula) and one daughter, Traci (Thomas) Riddle.
Sharon was never one to seek attention or fanfare. She was a steady presence – practical, hardworking, and determined – routinely putting her family’s needs ahead of her own. She worked for many years at Pleasant view Medical Center, where she valued the elderly individuals she was helping and eventually returned to the facility during her final month of care.
She was the proud grandmother of 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grand children. She leaves behind a legacy of perseverance, selflessness, and quiet dignity.
Sharon will be remembered for her unwavering commitment to her family and her strong sense of responsibility. She may not have been outwardly affectionate, but her love was shown in the way she lived – through action, sacrifice, and steady support.
Sharon is predeceased in death by her husband Wayne, Her birth mother, Kathryn, her step mother Nancy and her father, Francis.
A memorial service will be held at 12 pm Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Nelson-House Funeral Home. A time of visitation will be from 11 am until the time of service.
