- December 4, 2025

Sharon Lynn Durham, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025, in Hendersonville, North Carolina. Born in Highland Park, Michigan, she was the cherished daughter of the late Richard and Maire Hatch.
Sharon’s life was a testament to love, faith, and service. She dedicated many years of her professional life to Michigan Consolidated Gas, where she worked diligently and formed lasting friendships. Her true passions, however, lay beyond her work. She found immense joy in hiking in the mountains, a pursuit that brought her closer to nature and to God.
Her heart was generous and kind, always open to her family, whom she adored deeply. Sharon’s love extended to her 20 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Her devotion to them was evident in every moment spent together, creating cherished memories that will be treasured by all.
A faithful member of Mud Creek Baptist Church, Sharon found solace and strength in her relationship with The Lord Jesus Christ, whom she called her best friend. Her faith inspired her to volunteer selflessly, touching countless lives with her compassion and grace.
Sharon is survived by her devoted husband of 38 years, Paul E. Durham; her sons, Tim Luma of Phoenix, AZ; Terry Luma of Egg Harbor Township, NJ; Steve Luma of Livonia, MI; Bobby Durham of Atlanta, MI; and Phil Durham of Canton, MI. She is also survived by her sister, Gail Ellison of Kalamazoo, MI, and her brother, Tom Hatch of Royal Oak, MI.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Sharon on Saturday, December 13th, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 538 Tracy Grove Road, Hendersonville, NC 28792. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a memorial service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. The service will be officiated by Jessie Carr and David Stanford, with Debbie Stanford providing music in celebration of Sharon’s life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mud Creek Baptist Church Building Fund or Four Seasons Hospice, causes close to Sharon’s heart.
Sharon Lynn Durham’s legacy of love and faith will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her. She will be dearly missed but fondly remembered as a beacon of light and love.
