Sharon Cassidy

July 8, 2025 at the age of 70. Sharon is survived by her husband, Christopher; children, Colleen Cassidy (Hannah Hoersting) and Kevin Cassidy (Lizzie Seibert); grandcats, Keenan, Ember, Asher, and Lily; siblings, David (Kathy) Odrobina, Marc (Michelle) Odrobina, Jeffrey Odrobina; several nieces and nephews.

Sharon was born and grew up in West Seneca NY, near Buffalo, where she learned that snow is not really a bad thing. She attended Cornell University in Ithaca NY as a math and computer science major. While at Cornell she took a physics course where she met her future husband. She also learned that physics is not really a bad thing either. After graduating from Cornell, Sharon earned a Masters in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University. She was one very smart person.

Sharon went on to spend 35 years working at Xerox as a programmer and data analyst. She loved her work and was highly valued for her skills and dependability.

However, the real love of her life was her family. With her husband, she raised two wonderful children. She was always there for all of us as helper, listener, advisor, and teacher. She had a smile that could light up the universe. Her love and laughter filled our household, and her skill with spreadsheets kept us all organized. She will be sincerely missed by all who knew and loved her.

A Celebration of Sharon’s Life will be held at Mary Magdalene Church (1008 Main St., East Rochester NY) at 12:15 pm on August 24, 2025. A reception will be held afterward in the Hahnemann Club at the Highlands at Pittsford, 300 Stoutenburgh Lane, Pittsford NY. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Sharon’s name to the “Mary Magdalene Church Capital Fund”.
