Sara Joan Baldwin Ammons

Sara Joan Baldwin Ammons, passed away on November 30, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on March 13, 1941, in Buncombe County, North Carolina, she was a cherished daughter of the late Augustus Edward Baldwin and Viola Katie Browning Baldwin.

Sara was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who dedicated her life to the love and care of her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Judson Carlyle Ammons.

She is survived by her daughters, Jennifer Ammons-Moreno and her husband, Mickey of Flat Rock, NC, and Julie Ammons Dion and her husband, Craig of Jacksonville, FL. She was a grandmother to Daniel Ammons-Moreno and his wife, Amanda of Memphis, TN, Marley Rose Moreno-Hollifield and her husband, Travis of Flat Rock, NC, John Carlyle Dion of Ft. Myers, FL, Liza Baldwin Dion of Jacksonville, FL, and Charlotte Grace Dion of Jacksonville, FL.

A private inurnment will be held at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, NC, where Sara will be laid to rest alongside her husband.
