Ruby Brooks-Taplin

Ruby Nell Brooks Taplin, 83, of Cameron died Sunday, September 21, 2025 in a Temple hospital. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Saturday, September 27, 2025 at New Jerusalem Church in Rockdale. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Cameron.

Mrs. Taplin, a retired certified nurses’ aide, was born December 23, 1941 in the Sharp Community of Milam County to Tommie Lee Brooks, Sr. and Murriel Daniels. She married Henry Taplin on November 4, 1963and he preceded her in death in 2002.

 She was also preceded in death by her parents and 4 siblings, David Brooks, Tommie Lee Brooks, Jr. Kathryn Smith and Lillian Brooks.

 She is survived by: son, Thomas E. Taplin (Charlotte); brothers, Nathaniel Brooks, Charles Brooks (Grace), Jessie Brooks, John Brooks; sisters, Doria Brooks, Wilma Jean Brooks; brother-in-law, Mike Smith; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and friends.
