Roy Smith
Roy Keith Smith, 69 of Hardin, Arkansas, took his final breath on September 20th, 2025.
He was born to the late Roy Lee Smith, Jr. and Martha Ann Lawhon Smith, on February 20, 1956. His mother often referred to him as “Roy Boy”.
Roy Keith retired from Twin Rivers Paper Company, where he was a Maintenance Planner and Scheduler. He absolutely LOVED being retired and would remind us daily that he could wake up when he wanted to and do whatever he wanted to when he wanted to do it.
He was an excellent craftsman. If you could dream it, he could weld it. From unique yard birds and metal flowers for his family and BBQ grills ranging in sizes from counter top, to 20 feet long. Also this one-of-a-kind revolver smoker, fish cookers, deer stands, car/motorcycle haulers, and boat racks. He also made custom bumpers for most all of the trucks he has ever owned, and even fire pits are just some of the amazing things he has built. He also enjoyed restoring vintage automobiles.
Roy Keith enjoyed mastering the art of riding a unicycle and would ride it to elementary school. He liked to randomly grab it and bet people if he could ride it or not, and to everyone’s surprise, he could hop on it and take off. This shortly turned into a love of motorcycles. From the early age of 10 years old he would ride his Honda, back and forth from Dollarway and White Hall. He was the king of burnouts and once was challenged to burnout with a brand-new Harley that he had less than a month. He then burned/smoked that tire smooth off. He also enjoyed doing crazy stunts like riding wheelies for what seemed like miles, to surfing them.
He loved the outdoors from camping, fishing, and hunting.
He loved helping others from mowing their lawns to welding a project. He was a fixer to so many.
But what he loved the most was spending time with his family and friends, just relaxing, having fun, great conversations and, of course, a good meal.
Roy Keith is survived by his sisters, Gayla Sue Smith, of White Hall and Melody Ann Contreras (Danny), of Houston, TX; a nephew, Samuel Contreras; his daughters, Mandy R. Armstrong (Josh), Jamie Leigh Law, Sami Jo Rose (Josh), all of White Hall; his chosen children, Zach Parsley {Tiffany) of Sheridan, AR, and Erich “Big E” Parsley {Stephanie) of Crossett, AR; his grandchildren, Jake Law, Zane Armstrong, Cooper Law, Gunner Rose, Braxtyn Parsley, Adalynn Parsley, Sawyer Parsely, Ruby Clarie Parsley, Oaklee Parsley and the newest addition, Michael Keith Parsley, to whom he was known as their “Big Pop”.
We would also like to recognize the love of his life, Alice Miller, who loved him unconditionally, took amazing care of him, and was by his side holding him until he took his last breath.
Roy Keith’s funeral service will be held Thursday, September 25, 2025,10:30 a.m. at Robinson & Fuller White Hall Chapel. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
