Rosalina Rivera Garcia, born October 27, 1927 in Santurce, Puerto Rico, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 27, 2025 at the age of 97.
She was the second of five children born to Augusta Serrano✝ and Celestino Garcia✝. She is survived by her beloved sister, Stella LaCoppola, and reunited in eternal peace with her sister Linda Cioffi✝ and brothers Victor Casteño✝ and Cristobal Garcia✝.
In 1945 she married the love of her life, Hector Rivera✝. Together, they built a strong and devoted family, raising four children: Awilda Roman (Victor Roman), Jenny Joubert (John Joubert✝), Sonia Flores (Jaime Flores), and Hector Rivera Jr. (Annie Rivera).
Her legacy lives through her grandchildren: Victor Roman Jr., Hector Roman (Joan Fonsenca), Annette Roman, Anthony Roman, Carlos Olivero✝, Rose Marie Rosario (George Rosario), Jo-Ann Thompson (Stacy Thompson), Jose Sanchez Jr., Sonya Prieto, Michelle Rivera, Jason Rivera✝, and Marcelo Rivera.
Her great-grandchildren: Hector Alexander and Jean Paul Roman, Victoria Rodriguez, Sade McCaw, Tatiana Nobels Lee, George M., Cornelius, and Eucherius Rosario, Rebecca and Sara Aguila, Desiree, Joseph and Kayla Sanchez, Christopher Prieto, Samantha Lacayo, Alexa and Giovanni Torres, and Gianna Sandoval.
Her great-great-grandchildren: Gwendolyn and Claire McCaw, Anleigh, Charlotte, and Audrianna Lugo, and Harley and Nolan Jimenez.
Whether you knew her as Lulee, Mamita, or Cita, Rosalina’s life was defined by love and care. She devoted her life to nurturing five generations — her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren — offering each of us a sense of safety, belonging, and unconditional love.
As we grieve her passing, we also celebrate the legacy she leaves behind: her unforgettable cooking, her gift for comforting others, and her unwavering faith, which reflected the depth of her kindness and selflessness. Her spirit lives on in the memories we carry and the love she so freely gave.
May she rest in eternal peace, joyfully reunited with those who went before her.

Rosalina Rivera García, nacida el 27 de octubre de 1927 en Santurce, Puerto Rico, falleció en paz en su hogar el domingo 27 de julio de 2025, a la edad de 97 años.
Fue la segunda de cinco hijos de Augusta Serrano✝ y Celestino García✝. Le sobrevive su querida hermana, Stella LaCoppola, y se ha reunido en la paz eterna con su hermana Linda Cioffi✝ y sus hermanos Víctor Casteño✝ y Cristóbal García✝.
En 1945 se casó con el amor de su vida, Héctor Rivera✝. Juntos formaron una familia sólida y amorosa, criando a cuatro hijos: Awilda Román (Victor Román), Jenny Joubert (John Joubert✝), Sonia Flores (Jaime Flores) y Héctor Rivera Jr. (Annie Rivera).
El legado de Rosalina vive a través de sus nietos: Victor Román Jr., Héctor Román (Joan Fonseca), Annette Román, Anthony Román, Carlos Olivero✝, Rose Marie Rosario (George Rosario), Jo-Ann Thompson (Stacy Thompson), José Sánchez Jr., Sonya Prieto, Michelle Rivera, Jason Rivera✝ y Marcelo Rivera.

Quienes la conocieron como Lulee, Mamita o Cita, saben que la vida de Rosalina estuvo marcada por el amor y el cuidado. Dedicó su vida a cuidar y guiar a cinco generaciones—sus hijos, nietos, bisnietos y tataranietos—ofreciéndonos a todos un profundo sentido de seguridad, pertenencia y amor incondicional.
Mientras lamentamos su partida, también celebramos el legado que deja: su cocina inolvidable, su capacidad de consolar a quienes la rodeaban y su fe inquebrantable, reflejo de su profunda bondad y generosidad. Su espíritu vive en los recuerdos que atesoramos y en el amor que compartió con tanta entrega.
Que descanse en la paz eterna, felizmente reunida con los seres queridos que la precedieron.
