Beloved Roosevelt “Junior” Wright, Jr., widower of Maybell Dingle-Wright, was born on July 15, 1939 in Clarendon County. He was a son of the late Louise Moore Dingle-El, and raised by the late Marion and Rachel Wright

As a young man, “Junior” as he was affectionately called, received his formal education in public schools of Clarendon County and attended Manning Training High School.

In the year of 1962, Roosevelt was employed by Prestressed Concrete as a truck driver for over seven years. Later on, joined the Santee Print company as a Custodian, until his retirement. He was a member of Society Hill A.M.E Church.

Junior united into marital bliss, on December 22, 1962, to the former Maybell Dingle. To this union were born two children. They raised two nieces, two nephews and adopted three boys.

On Friday May 17, 2025, Roosevelt “Junior” Wright, Jr., departed our midst and joined his beloved wife. His presence will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by Abie Dingle.

Those left to cherish his memories are his sons, Velta (Sylvia), Levone (Mia), Brandon, Juwan and Tony Wright; raised as his own Ada Pearson, Helen Dingle and Johnny Bradley; grandchildren, Velteeka, Bailey, Nyah, Zander, Jordan, Khia, Kyrie, Raelyn; siblings, Delores Dingle-El, Darnell Dingle-El, Ruth Smith and Boaz Dingle-El; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Dingle and Mary B. Moore; a host of nieces, nephews and many sorrowing relatives and friends
