Rodney Mortenson, 72, left this world peacefully on October 15, 2025.

Rodney Arlie Mortenson was born on June 27, 1953 in International Falls, the son of Adolph and Betty Mortenson. He grew up in International Falls, where he developed a strong work ethic, a deep love for his family, and unwavering faith in God.

A loving husband to Doris, Rodney was a pillar of strength and support for his family. Together, they raised three children: Stacy, Aaron, and Ben. He was a devoted father, always there to offer guidance, love, and a hearty laugh. He cherished family gatherings, and his presence at holidays and celebrations brought warmth and joy to those around him.

Rodney had many passions in life. But most notably was sharing time with his children and grandchildren. He was known for his gentle spirit and his sense of humor that could light up any room.

He is survived by his loving wife, Doris, and their three children: Stacy (Eric), Aaron (Amy), and Ben (Lisa). He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren: Jayde (Ian), Heather (Christian), Ethan, Mason, and Anna; and his great grandchildren: Augustus and Artemis.

He is also survived by his siblings Marlys (Ray), Ardel (Mary Lou), Karen, Lyle (Adelle), Lydia (Murry), David (Shiela), and Lisa (Brian); his in-laws Larry (Jan) and Sandy; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly.

A funeral service to celebrate Rodney’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 24, 2025, at Evangelical Covenant Church, located at 1631 1st Ave E, International Falls. Friends and family are invited to attend and pay their respects. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in his memory to Koochiching County 4-H, 715 4th Street, International Falls MN 56649.
