Robert Frank “Bobby” Lucas, 38, of Dalzell, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly due to complications from brain surgery on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Funeral Services will be held at 6:00 PM Friday, June 20, 2025 at the Mueller Funeral Home, Peru with Rev. Phil Jackson, pastor of Tonica United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will be held 4-6:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.

Bobby was born on October 11, 1986 in Peru to Robert Schell and Toni Schinkey. He was a graduate of LaSalle-Peru High School and went on to attend college, studying computer science. He then returned home to help care for his ailing parents. He married Betsy Fluech on June 2, 2016 in Princeton.

Bobby worked at Staples and Menards and most recently was employed as a machinist at Inman Motors, all in Peru. He also owned his own business, The Cedar Sign Guy and did 3-D printing. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t do. He also enjoyed woodworking and playing with his dogs. His greatest joy was spending time with his wife and daughters. Bobby was built to be a husband and father.

No matter the day, good or bad, Bobby would bring joy, happiness, and laughter to all of those around him. Everybody that met Bobby, loved Bobby. He never met a stranger and would do anything to help anyone.

Survivors include his wife, Betsy; two daughters, Kaitlyn and Natalie; his father, Robert of Peru; his sister, Autumn (Joe) Trujillo; numerous nieces and nephews; and Teresa Whetzel who was like a second mother to him and the Godmother to his daughters.

He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Toni and Ramon Torres and his brother, Chris Lucas.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
