Robert LaMarche

Robert F. LaMarche, 76, a longtime resident of Putnam Valley, NY, died on May 28, 2025. Bob was born in Manhattan to Charles J. and Nora A. Lyons La Marche. At twenty years old he joined the US Army and served in Vietnam. Injured while on active duty, he was the recipient of the Purple Heart Medal. Upon returning to the United States, with the GI Bill, he attended graduate school, becoming an accountant. Bob spent much of his career at the Hunt’s Point Terminal Market, Bronx, in their business office. After 9/11, he left the market and went to work for the Town of Greenwich, CT., retiring by 2010.

On May 26, 1984, at St. Therese’s Church in Cresskill, NJ, Bob married Maureen McSweeney. Married for forty-one years this past Monday, they raised their two children in Putnam Valley. Many years spent golfing, coaching little league and volunteering every December for the Angel Tree project at St. Columbanus Church kept Bob busy and as Maureen might say, “out of trouble”!

Bob is survived by Maureen, his daughter Therese, son Rob, and his sister, Janice, along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, two brothers, Charlie and Billy, and his sisters Barbara and Lorraine.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday June 2, 10 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Shrub Oak, NY, followed by interment at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Putnam Valley. Visiting will be on Sunday from 3 – 7 PM at Dorsey Carlone Funeral Home, 1100 Cortlandt St. Peekskill, NY.
