I could have let my family write my obituary after I was gone, but there were things I wanted to be sure and say it in my own words. So here goes.

My great-grandfather, Chin Lin Sou, was a Colorado pioneer whose stained-glass portrait is displayed in the Colorado state capitol building.

I was a Denver native, graduated from Manual High School in 1954, and served in the U.S. Army for three years.

My parents, Esther and Frank Fong operated the Chinese restaurant in Denver called “The Lotus Room” located on 9th and Bannock Street in the VFW Post No. 1. The family restaurant operated from 1948 through 1985.

I worked at the family restaurant for 25 years and then moved to the Wellshire Inn, where I was employed for 15 years. I then worked in the kitchen for the Takase Japanese restaurant for three years.

My favorite pastimes were to cheer for my Denver Broncos, Nuggets, and Avalanche.

I am survived by my wife, Dina D. Fong, my son, Robert G. Fong, Jr. (Laurie). Two daughters, Robin Booras (Tim_ and Christina Fong (Chris), and my sister, Judy Vigil (Joe). I also leave my six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and my pup, Rio, Echo, and Keena.

As per my request, no service will be held.
