Robert (Bob) B. Cook, 98, passed away at Alden Estates of Jefferson Rehabilitation and Health Care
Center on May 9, 2025. He was born on September 20, 1926, in Paragould, Arkansas, the son of Robert
and Zola Victoria Cook.
Bob served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as an Aviation Support Equipment Technician, Fire
Controlman, and Seaman aboard the USS Bristol, based out of San Pedro, California. He attained the rank
of Petty Officer Second Class before his honorable discharge in 1946. During his service, he had the
honor of serving both at Pearl Harbor and aboard the USS Bristol.
In 1947, he married La Donna Mynear. They later divorced, and he remarried Thelma (Teremaine) Cook
in 1959. Bob worked as a superintendent at Texaco Oil Company until his retirement in 1985.
He is survived by two daughters, Linda (Jim) Wegmuller and Gail Cook (Dave Fichtner); four
grandchildren, Scott Vest, Robin (Pete) Johnson, Robert (Kaila) Wegmuller, and Dylan Meints; six
great-grandchildren, Brianna Zaborek, Cameron Bangasan, Celina Bangasan, Jadah Wegmuller, Landon
Wegmuller, and Aidan Wegmuller; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Cook, and stepdaughter, Mary Ann Teremaine.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Albrecht Funeral
Homes & Cremation Services in Milton, Wisconsin. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 p.m. Burial will
take place at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, Wisconsin.
Memorial contributions are preferred to a charity of your choice in lieu of flowers.
However, the family also welcomes flowers in memory of Bob.
