Robert Chinn, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, passed away on July 30, 2025 surrounded by his family. Robert’s life was one of enduring connection to the land and to the people who mattered most to him. His love for hunting, fishing, and working on the farm was only surpassed by the joy he found in the company of his loved ones.
Robert leaves behind his wife, Pawnee Chinn, his son, Michael Chinn, and his daughter, Robin (Kirk) Brinker. He also leaves a legacy of love with his grandchildren: Cortney (Thomas) Webster, Jake (Katie) Brinker, Maggie (Trenton) Weeks, Emma Alsip, and Kayla Alsip; and his great-grandchildren: Jude Webster, Lyla Brinker, and Cam Brinker. He is survived by his sister, Cora Waters, his brother, Ronnie (Linda Barnett) Chinn, and his sisters-in-law, Trudy Chinn and Brenda Chinn. Robert’s life was enriched by the presence of several nieces, nephews, and a host of other friends and relatives. He was predeceased by his daughter, Renee Alsip, his parents, Allmer and Nannie (Shepherd) Chinn, his brothers, Carl, Mearl and Gary Chinn, his sister, Cathy Lawson as well as his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Don Waters and Pam Chinn.
Visitation will be held at Jellico Creek Baptist Church, located at 9004 Kentucky 92, Williamsburg, Kentucky, 40769, on Saturday, August 9, 2025, beginning at 12:00 pm. The funeral service will follow at the same location starting at 2:00 pm. The interment will take place on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 3:00 pm at the Jellico Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Highway 92 West, Williamsburg, Kentucky. The service will be officiated by Rev. Doyle Lester.
