Rick Norman, 68, of Granbury, passed into glory on December 6, 2025 at his home in Granbury with his wife at his bedside, after a courageous battle with esophageal cancer.

Rick was born on December 17, 1956 at Granbury General Hospital to parents, A. W. “Al” and Aunita Gifford Norman. He attended Granbury schools all 12 years and was a proud Granbury Pirate. He played football, basketball, tennis and track and was a captain of the football team. He graduated from Granbury High School in 1975 and lived his entire life in Granbury.

Rick worked most of his career at Norman Lumber Company but also spent 11 years in the I.T. department for the City of Granbury. He then worked for 6 years at the North Texas Council of Governments until his retirement in 2023.

Recently, Rick was honored to be chosen as the Coming Home King for the class of 1975.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, numerous aunts and uncles and a step-granddaughter, Cassi Walker.

Rick is survived by his wife of 47 years, Vicky, of Granbury, a brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Judy Norman, of Granbury, two stepsons, Jeff Walker of Azle, TX and Cody Walker and longtime girlfriend, Carly Hendricks, of Sheridan, AR, a step-grandson Brayden Walker, also of Sheridan, AR, his uncle Bud Gifford and wife Mae Ann of Granbury, and many cousins and friends.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 28th from 4-6 pm at Wiley Funeral Home.

Funeral service is scheduled for Monday, December 29th at 2 PM in the Chapel at Wiley Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers or plants, please donate to a local food bank/pantry or animal shelter in your area, Toys for Tots or Cancer research.
