Richard Vickers

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Richard Thomas Vickers, a cherished husband, father, and friend, who left this world peacefully on September 15, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on April 14, 1952, in Hartford, Connecticut, Richard lived a life marked by service, dedication, and a profound love for his family and country.

Richard served honorably in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, where he rose to the rank of Corporal. His commitment to defending the freedoms of his fellow Americans remained a source of pride throughout his life. After his service, he embarked on a successful career as a Printer with Aetna Insurance Company, where he utilized his skills and work ethic to contribute to the insurance industry.

An avid outdoorsman, Richard found great joy in hunting and fishing, often sharing these passions with his loved ones. He relished long bike rides with his beloved wife, Deborah Vickers, exploring the beauty of nature and creating lasting memories together. Richard was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather and his legacy will live on in the hearts of those he loved.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Vickers and Yvonne Vickers

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Deborah, and his son, Thomas Vickers (Diana), step sons, Glen Spaulding and James Spaulding, step daughter, Christel Lattanzi, 5 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, sisters, Kathy McKeen and Betty Ann Bowman, numerous nieces and nephews, along with a host of friends who will remember him for his kind spirit, unwavering patriotism, and dedication to his family.

In honor of Richard’s remarkable life, a Celebration of Life service will be held at the Heritage Florence Funeral Chapel on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM. After the services the celebration will continue with a luncheon at the family home.

Richard Thomas Vickers will be profoundly missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love and memories he so deserved.
