Richard Taone

Richard Taone 78 of Chicago, passed away peacefully at home on August 3rd 2025 leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter and many unforgettable memories.

Born on June 16, 1947, Rich had a big personality, an even bigger heart, and knack for making everyone around him feel welcome. Whether he was out riding one of his Harley’s to hear the sound of his pipes, casting a line at his favorite fishing spot, or cranking up his tunes with a nice cold one. Rich knew how to have a good time and live life to the fullest.

Rich was often the life of the party, a great storyteller, he wanted everyone around him to enjoy themselves as much as he was and have a good time, and wasn’t afraid to tell it like it was. But more than anything he loved spending time with his grandkids – they were his pride and joy. There was no stopping him from making sure they were all happy. In spite of all that, he truly missed the love of his life, Lucy. Not a day went by where he didn’t think of her or miss her absence.

He is survived by his Children Richard (Joann) Taone and Shelly (Paul) Castillo. Proud Grandfather of Jace Castillo, Richard and Sofia Taone. Loving brother of Eileen Nimi, the late James (Sarah) Taone, and Ronald Taone. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy. Proud Uncle and Great Uncle to many nieces and nephews.
