Thursday night a number of homes were evacuated in the area, but as of 9 a.m. Friday morning all evacuations have been lifted at this time.

“Fire crews made excellent progress on the fire overnight taking advantage of cooler temperatures, higher humidity, and light wind conditions,” a Truckee Meadows Fire spokesperson wrote Friday morning. “A helicopter will fly the scene this morning to assess fire activity and acreage.”

The fire is still considered active and containment percentage is unknown.
