It is with deep sorrow that we annouce the passing of Ralph “Chencho” Quintana, who left this world peacefully on January 13, 2025 at the age of 85. Born on May 15, 1939 to Guillermo Quintana aand Jesusa Garcia, Ralph was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose legacy of kindness, wisdom, and integrity will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

Ralph was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Joanne, with whom he shared 70 years of lvoe and partnership. He is survived by Joanne; son, Ralph, Jr.; daughter, Cecilia; son-in-law, Beto; grandsons, Leonardo and Maximino; brother, Ignacio; sisters, Irma, Doris, and Gloria; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Anthy; sister, Virginia; and brothers, Willie and Paul.

A proud longshoreman with Local 10 ILWU, Ralph spent much of his life working hard to provide for his family. He was an avid gardener, finding peace and joy in his backyard, where he could connect with nature. His love for the outdoors was matched by his love of reading, particularly history, which he exploroed with great enthusiasm throughout his life. His family will forever remember his wisdom and thoughtful reflections on life, as well as the countless hours spent in conversation aboaut the world around him.

A gentle soul with a heart full of compassion, Ralph was deeply loved and respected by all who knew him. His passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but his legacy of love, wisdom, and dedication to family will live on through all who were blessed to have known him.
