South Paris – Peter Andrew Duguay, 63, died at his home on July 17, 2025 with his family by his side after a short battle fighting cancer. Peter was born in Lewiston, Maine on September 29, 1961 to Joseph & Irene Duguay. Peter dedicated his life to hard work, family and the simple joys he cherished. He spent his career in the shoe industry, hand sewing shoes and eventually retiring from New Balance, where his craftsmanship and dedication were well respected.
Peter was a man of many passions. He loved hunting and fishing, playing the drums, and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and happiness.
Peter is survived by his former wife, Joan Duguay, as well as his children Lisa Walsh of Steep Falls, Andrew Duguay of South Paris and Chelsey Duguay of South Paris. He is also survived by his sisters Cathy Bachelder, Susan Bachelder and Faye Louvat as well as his brother Tommy Duguay. He was predeceased by his two brothers Gary and Freddie.
The loves of his life were his grandchildren Camerin, Kashton, Mason, Kilana, Payton, Rylee, Katalina and Kingston.
Peter will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his deep love for his family and friends, and the quiet strength and kindness he showed to those around him.
There will be a graveside service at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Lewiston on August 5, 2025 at 10:00 am for family and friends. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
