Peter Agliardo Jr, a longtime Mamaroneck resident, passed away July 21, 2025, at age 91. Pete was born February 21, 1934, in the Bronx to Peter and Frances Agliardo. He worked in the oil and heating industry at Way-Wolff Associates for many years, and in retirement, continued as a consultant until his early 80’s. Known for his integrity, he was esteemed by colleagues and city officials alike. Pete dedicated much of his time to community activities and affairs. He was an active parishioner at Most Holy Trinity Church, and then at Saint Gregory the Great Church, where he served as a lector, taught religious instruction, and participated in the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the Elks and Vittorio Emmanuel Club. He helped preserve Florence Park as a founding member of the Florence Park Association. He served many years on the Rye Neck School Board. Then he was elected to the Board of the Village of Mamaroneck, where he served as deputy mayor. In his leisure time, he loved to boat and fish in The Sound, and he was an avid card player as well.
He is survived by Ida (née Esposito) Agliardo, his loving wife of 66 years. He is also survived by his son Fr. Michael Agliardo SJ, his daughter Melody Cowles and her husband Chris, his son Peter Agliardo and his wife Bethany, and his grandsons Brendan, Christopher, Tyler, Nicholas, Benjamin, Justin. He is the brother of the late June Maida, the late Gloria Russo, and Richard Agliardo.
To honor Pete’s life, family and friends will gather Friday 3-6:30pm at Coxe & Graziano Funeral Home (767 E. Boston Post Road, Mamaroneck). The funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday 10am at St. Gregory the Great Church in Harrison, followed by interment at Greenwood Union Cemetery.
