COURNEYA, Peggy – of Flint, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at LaVigne Home for Compassionate Care. A Funeral Liturgy will be held 1 PM on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423. Fr. Denis Spitzley officiating. Interment immediately following the service in Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors 4-7 PM on Monday, October 6, 2025, and 12-1PM on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at Allen Funeral Home.
Peggy was born in Flint, Michigan on February 28, 1934, daughter of the late Carl and Merle (Larkin) Norris, Sr. She married Paul Courneya on November 6, 1954, in Flint, Michigan, and he preceded her in death on August 10, 2023. Peggy enjoyed many hobbies throughout her life, including needle crafts and playing bingo. She especially cherished time spent with her family and took great joy in spoiling her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She will be remembered as a loving, caring, and confident woman whose warmth touched all who knew her.
Peggy is survived by 3 children: John (the late Becky) Courneya, Pamela Marie (Billy) Gales and Pat (Sheila) Courneya and 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; sisters: Cheryl Heuchert, Sue (Terry) Jones, and Sally (Jack) Suttle; many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Carl Norris, Jr.
