Paul “Butch” Emerson Sypolt II, 77, of Mannington, passed away on August 2, 2025, at his residence. He was born on May 15, 1948, a son of the late Paul Emerson and Doris Jean Sypolt (Gower).

Butch is survived by his wife, Valerie Sypolt, whom he married on May 29, 1997; his children: Michael Stewart II of Montana Mines, Joshua Stewart and companion Abbey French of Fairmont, and Christina Michael and husband Chris of Hundred; grandchildren: Mikayla Stewart, Ashleigh Stewart, Tytus Stewart, Zek Stewart, Isaiah Michael, Jasper Michael, and Hunter Michael; sisters: Pam Lambert of Mannington, and Connie Sypolt of Fairmont; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Brad Sypolt.

Butch was a proud Vietnam veteran and combat veteran, bravely serving our country in the Navy with the Seabee’s. He was a carpenter by trade and was a member of the Carpenters Union, #0476, in Bridgeport. Butch was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and was a pro fisherman. He was very proud of the trophies he collected over the years. He was also a proud Republican and huge fan of Dale Earnhardt. Butch attended Calvary Baptist Church, where he was a member. In addition to these hobbies, he loved to spend time with his grandchildren and his family.

Friends may call at Hutson Funeral Home, 500 East Main Street, Mannington on Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 6505 Husky Highway, with Pastor Lee Bowman officiating.
