Patty Blevins
Patty Blevins, 86, of Meadowview, VA passed away on Monday, July 14, 2025 at Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, VA. She was born in Mountain City, TN on March 31, 1939, a daughter of the late Dewey Dayton Turnmire and Ruth Lee Gentry Turnmire. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Dallas “J.D.” Blevins, Sr.; a son, Jacob Dallas “Butch” Blevins, Jr.; two sisters, Mae Widener and Betty Beeler; three brothers, Everette Turnmire, Bud Turnmire, and Gary Turnmire.
She was life long resident of Washington County, VA and was retired from Roses Department Store after 32 years of service. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Damascus, VA.
Patty is survived by two sons, Ronnie Blevins of Meadowview, VA and James Blevins and his wife, Jennifer, of Damascus, VA; a daughter-in-law, Lori Blevins of Bristol, TN; six grandchildren, Jacqueline Blevins, B.J. Blevins, Justin Blevins and his wife, Cassie, Sam Blevins and his wife, Beth, Abby Almany and her husband, Austin, and Ally Blevins and her fiance, Boone Thomas; eight great grandchildren; special friends, Wanda Salyers, Eula Helton, Dan and Ann Ramsey; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Abingdon Health and Rehab for all the love and care shown to Patty during her time there.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm Thursday, July 17, 2025 at First Baptist Church, Damascus, VA. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm Thursday at the church with Pastor David Matlock officiating. Music will be under the direction of Jeremy Garrett. The committal service and interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, Damascus, VA. Pallbearers will be B.J. Blevins, Justin Blevins, Sam Blevins, Austin Almany, Boone Thomas, Jacob Richardson, Rick Widener, and Greg Widener. Don Widener will serve as an Honorary Pallbearer.
