An Open House Celebration of Life to honor the life and memory of Patricia Prochaska, age 84, of Lakefield, will be held Wednesday, July 9th, from 1:00 – 3:00 PM at the LaCanne Family Celebration of Life Center in Jackson. Burial will follow the service at the Lakefield City Cemetery.
Patricia Ann Prochaska, born May 13, 1941, in Windom, Minnesota to Leslie and Ludmilla (Beros) Prochaska, graduated from Windom High School in 1959. She worked for many years at the HiLo Club and Toro in Windom before retiring. Patricia welcomed a son, Mike in November of 1965.
She valued time spent with her family and found enjoyment in gardening, canning pickles, picking strawberries, and preparing lefsa during the Christmas season. An accomplished baker, she specialized in sour cream and raisin, cherry, blueberry, and pumpkin pies, as well as three-cornered pastries and the family’s renowned sauerkraut soup. She was an avid supporter of the Minnesota Vikings and Timberwolves, regularly watching their televised games. Additionally, she enjoyed playing Bingo.
Pat resided on the family farm, caring for Grandma Luddy until her passing. Subsequently, Pat relocated to Lakefield and established her own residence. In 2013, due to health concerns, Pat moved in with Mike and Gail. In 2023, she transitioned to Colonial Manor.
Patricia Ann Prochaska passed away peacefully with family at her side on July 1st, 2025, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Lakefield.
Patricia is survived by her son, Mike (Gail) Prochaska, grandchildren, Chelsey Prochaska, Tessa Prochaska, Skylar Prochaska; great grandchildren, Camber, Gaige, Raycelyn, Noah, Ryder; sisters, Kay (Gary) Hummel, Lola Bergman, Sharon (Larry) Werner, Donna (Rod) Gove, Shirley (Alvin) Carter and brothers, Gary Prochaska (special friend, April), Bob (Janet) Prochaska.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Ludmilla Prochaska; Leonard Prochaska, Milt Prochaska (special friend, Linda), Dianne Basta, Jerry (Sherry) Prochaska, brother-in-law, Chuck Bergman.
