Nicky Willis

Nicky Randall Willis, age 69, of Queen City, Texas went to be with his Lord peacefully, on Saturday, September 13, 2025, holding his wife’s hand and surrounded by his loved ones.

Nicky was born January 6, 1956, to Lupton and Sissy Willis in Atlanta, Texas. He grew up with his younger brother, Scotty, whom he deeply loved and admired. They enjoyed many years working alongside each other at the feed mill, and in the hay fields. Nicky graduated from Queen City High School in 1974 where he competed as an offensive guard and linebacker for the Bulldogs. He also excelled in several track and field events, even competing at the regional level. After finishing high school, he went to work in construction, eventually starting a business with his dad and brother, Lonestar Utilities, which soon became known as Willis Bros Incorporated. He then began a long career working for Barnwell Industries. Ultimately, he retired from the City of Queen City after 6 years of service.

Nicky was an active and devoted member of the Calvary Tabernacle in Queen City, Texas where he served his Lord. He loved people like he loved the Lord; he never met a stranger. He was quick to crack a joke but even quicker to offer a shoulder to cry on or a helpful hand. Nicky had a tender heart and adored children, especially his grandchildren. His happy place was his farm with his loving wife, Bobbie. Nicky was an avid hunter and fisherman who was passionate about caring for his wildlife particularly his deer and his favorite duck, Sunny. He cherished time spent with his friends at the farm hunting, fishing, or sitting around a bonfire. Nicky had a positive outlook and love for life. He truly lived life to the fullest.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lupton and Sissy Willis, and his great granddaughter, Everly Bakalis. He is survived by his blue eyed, love of his life, wife of 42 years, Bobbie; two fur babies, Dixie and Bella; his daughter, Jolene Willis (Bobby) of Bossier City, Louisiana; sons, Joseph Willis of Douglasville, Texas, Jeremy Jones of Queen City, Texas, Bobby-Ray Jones (VanNessa) of Atlanta, Texas; eight grandchildren, Philip Bakalis (Nicole) and Lauryn Torres (Hank), Jordyn and Jax Jones, Michael Jones, Sierra Jones and Dustin Golden, Chad Jones, and Little Bobby Jones; six great-grandchildren; brother, Scotty Willis (Teresa), Steve Mcduff (Dana) and lifelong friends Paul Fitts, Keith and Gina Hogue, amongst many other adoring nieces, nephews, and friends. A special thank you to Brother Billy and Sister Peggy Dupree. Special thanks to Stacy Stevens, who helped to coordinate Nicky’s care. Along with Kristen Breashears with Heritage Hospice, we greatly appreciate your love and support.
