Nevada law enforcement make 49 arrests in ‘DUI Blitz’ to memorialize fallen NHP sergeant, trooper

The second annual “Sergeant Abbate and Trooper Felix” DUI Blitz was conducted last night Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025. Nevada Highway Patrol Sgt. Michael Abbate and Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Alberto Felix were tragically killed in the line of duty by an impaired driver on Nov. 30, 2023, in Las Vegas, Nev.

In their memory, the Nevada Highway Patrol, a division of the Nevada State Police, partnered with the law enforcement agencies across Nevada along with the California Highway Patrol with a unified goal to remove as many impaired drivers as possible off our roadways and prevent fatalities from occurring.

The Results:

• Total traffic stops: 818
• Total citations issued: 414 • Total all arrests: 49
• Total DUI arrests: 38

*Of the 49 arrests made 38 were for DUI.
