Nawal Nathan Banoub, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and dear friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Virginia Beach on September 30, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on March 4, 1941, in Asyut, Egypt, she was the daughter of the late Nathan Habib Saleh and Alice Abadeer Boles.
She spent many years as an English teacher in Egypt, where she touched the lives of countless students with her passion for education and commitment to their success. Nawal’s nurturing spirit and unwavering support were evident to all who knew her, and her legacy as an inspiring teacher will be fondly remembered.
After immigrating to the US, Nawal spent her life in devotion to her church and to raising her children and grandchildren. She was often found preparing meals for her family in the kitchen while listening to Christian sermons.
Nawal lived a life marked by her strength coming from Jesus. She always tried to serve others before serving herself in the most gentle and humble way, no matter what came to her. She passed to our Lord Jesus, holding the cross tightly in her hand. She was a role model for all people.
Survivors include her loving husband of 57 years, Adel T. Banoub; daughter, Angie Salib and her husband David Salib; son, Hany Banoub; grandchildren Emily Salib, Andrew Salib, Ava Salib, and Jules Banoub. Her family and friends will forever hold her memory in their hearts.
