Motor Officer Training Challenge happening Friday, Saturday in downtown Carson City

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is hosting the High Sierra Motor Officer Training Challenge and partnering with the Reno Police Department and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
This year’s event will be held on Friday, June 27 and Saturday, June 28 in the Downtown corridor of Carson City.
Motor officers will be training, riding, and discussing riding techniques with various motor instructors. This training event is designed to help motor officers enhance their riding skills through challenging skill patterns, camaraderie, and some friendly competition.
- Friday, June 27, training and practice will start around 7 a.m. and end around 3 p.m. The training and practice will take place on South Carson Street in front of the State Capitol building.
- Saturday, June 28, The main event starts around 8 a.m. and will run through 5 p.m. Watch motor officers and civilian riders compete against each other through a timed course. We will have a slow ride, tethered team event (two motorcycles tied together), 4-rider team event, and a “Last Man Standing” event.The public is encouraged to attend the training and competition on both days. You can spectate from the Capitol grounds and at McFadden Plaza. Several local businesses will also have their own booths to support the event.Please contact Sgt.
