Mildred Huette, 90, lovingly known as “Mick”, “The Mildred”, and “Micky”, passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on July 2, 2025, in Scottsdale, Arizona. Born on December 5, 1934, in Morton, Illinois, to Dwight and Fern McHenry, preceding her in death.
In 1955, Mick married the love of her life, Eugene “Gene” Huette, and together they built a life filled with laughter, love, and memorable family vacations. Though faced with the heartache of losing their first child, Brenda, at three months old, they found strength, joy, and meaning in raising their two other children, Lori and Curt. Family adventures included treasured trips to Florida—hot car rides in July with no air conditioning but filled with fun and laughter and trips to the beach, forever etched in their memories.
In 1987, Mick and Gene relocated to Arizona, delighting in desert living, trips to San Diego beaches, and cherished family moments.
Mick radiated warmth and grace, never encountering a stranger, and greeting everyone with genuine smiles and open-hearted kindness. Above all, she exemplified a profound love for God, Jesus, and family.
Her greatest joy came from her family, including her son, grandsons and great-grandchildren, who lit up her life with laughter and love. Survivors include her son, Curt Huette, 2 grandsons, and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband Gene and daughters Brenda and Lori.
Mick’s life was a testament to her unwavering faith and love for others. A handwritten card found in her room perfectly encapsulates her extraordinary life: “My Desire is… To run this race of life with Grace and Joy under my Savior’s Power with an infusion of God’s strength… Love you dear Jesus, Mick.”
Mick leaves behind a legacy defined by love, faith, and joy.
Honoring Mick’s wish, no memorial service will be held. To honor her legacy and in lieu of flowers, please select one of the following charities:
