Michael Kachlic

Michael Brian Kachlic, age 60 of Yorkville, IL found peace on Sunday, October 5, 2025 after enduring deep suffering. He was born on January 4, 1965 in Berwyn, IL the son of Robert and Valerie (Ross) Kachlic.

Michael was united in marriage on August 4, 1990 to Denise Ellen Weydeman and together they spent 35 unforgettable years building a family of three sons grounded in love and lifted by laughter.

Michael belonged to the Yorkville Chamber of Commerce as a proud business owner of Vat and Vine Liquors for 10 years. His local faith journey began at St. Patrick Catholic Church and continued at New Life Church, both in Yorkville, IL.

Michael enjoyed spending his time hunting, fishing and boating with his family and good friends. He was especially known for singing his own lyrics to his favorite classic rock songs, doing actor impersonations from SNL, quoting lines from funny movies and having a great sense of humor that brought so much joy to all that we’re lucky enough to know him.

He was a kind and loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and support group member who will be deeply missed by his family and many close friends.

Michael is survived by his parents, Robert and Valerie Kachlic of Aurora, IL; his wife, Denise Kachlic of Yorkville, IL; his sons, Connor Kachlic of Mesa, AZ; Colin Kachlic of Grand Rapids, MI, Corey Kachlic (Katie Hourselt) of Yorkville, IL; his granddaughter, Kinley Rae Kachlic; his sisters, Kim (Jeff) Baumgartner and Kathy (Jeff) Hill; his many adoring nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 North Bridge St., Yorkville, IL.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at the Nelson Funeral Home, Yorkville, IL. Interment will follow in the St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Bristol, IL.
