McGee Duff
McGee A. “Mac” Duff passed away on June 22, 2025 at the age of 98. McGee was born on August 22, 1926 in Moran, Texas to Chester Caleb Duff and Naomi Duff.
In 1933 the family moved to Cisco, Texas. In 1944 he joined the Navy as a Radar Operator for aircraft carriers in WWII.
In 1946 he started college at SMU where he met Patricia Gene Johnson and they were married on June 30, 1951. They were married for 68 years until her passing in 2019.
He achieved his Master’s in chemistry at SMU. He went on to get his PhD in Chemistry at LSU.
In 1956 they moved to Corpus Christi, Texas and he went to work for Celanese Chemical Company. The company moved them to St. Louis, Missouri in 1972 and then to Chicago, Illinois in 1980.
McGee retired in 1984 and they returned to Texas and lived on Lake Granbury.
McGee is survived by 2 sons: Tommy Caleb Duff and Roger Lewis Duff, 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 30, 2025 at Martin’s Funeral Home, Granbury, Texas from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Service will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at Acton Methodist Church, Granbury, Texas beginning at 10:00 AM.
Burial will follow at Holly Hills Memorial Park, Granbury, Texas.
