Maurice Hale, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on Wednesday, August 13th, 2025. He was born in Lorain, Ohio, to David Hale Sr. and the late Loretta Hale.
A member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Maurice lived a life full of passion, humor, and love for those around him. An Ohio State fanatic, a proud cigar and bourbon connoisseur, and a cornhole champion, he embraced life’s joys with enthusiasm. He loved riding motorcycles, recently discovered a passion for golfing, and was an avid listener of music. He was also known for his fondness for pancakes at Melissa’s in Frankfort and his dedication to coaching his son’s baseball team. Above all, Maurice cherished the moments spent with his family and friends.
In addition to his mother, Maurice was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Sadler.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Rebecca Hale; his sons, Makai Hale and Maurice Hale Jr.; his daughters, Taelaesha Hale and Tatyanna Hale; his sister, Danisha Frazier; his brothers, Marlon Sadler and David Hale Jr.; his stepmother, Judy Hale; and his grandchildren, Antoine Ross Jr. and Leilani Ross. Maurice will also be remembered by numerous aunts, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 17th, at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home. Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to share messages of condolence and memories on Maurice’s tribute wall.
