Matthew Blackburn

Matthew Ryan Blackburn, born August 7th, 1978, passed away on July 9th, 2025 at 10:30 pm in St. Joe, Florida.

Matthew was preceded in death by his mother Debbie Blackburn and is survived by his son, Ryan Alexander Blackburn of Pikeville, KY, his father Floyd Blackburn of Pikeville, KY, his brothers Doug Blackburn of Florence, KY and Jason (Tabitha) Blackburn of Pikeville, KY, niece and nephews (Grandin, Levi, Amelia), and his life partner Ashli Nichols, of St. Joe, Fla.

Matthew grew up in Pikeville, KY and traveled many places across the United States while working in construction and roofing. He finally settled in the panhandle of Florida for the past 15 months where he had found peace in his life.

Matthew never knew a stranger, would help anyone he could, and was a fiercely loyal friend to many, many people throughout his life. He worked hard, was stubborn, funny and loved his family.

Visitation will be from 6 PM – 9 PM Sunday July 20, 2025 at J.W. Call and Son Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be at 11AM Monday July 21, 2025 at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in the Blackburn Family Cemetery at Mills Road, Pikeville, KY.
