Maryanne Theresa DiPilato, 84, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, educator and mentor, passed away on October 4, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on September 9, 1941, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Maryanne dedicated her life to shaping young minds of students and teachers and most importantly, inspired a love for learning during her career as a Special Education Teacher and as Principal of Alexander Adaire Elementary School.

Maryanne started her career as a travel agent with Rosenbluth Travel, where she traveled the world with her husband, George. With a Masters in Special Education from Antioch University, Maryanne spent over 3 decades working for the School District of Philadelphia where she was admired for her innovative teaching methods and unwavering commitment to her students and staff.

Maryanne is survived by her husband, George, their son George, her grandchildren Domenic and Nina and her sister Conchetta (Connie) Marino. A memorial service will be held on October 11th, at 10:00 A.M. at the Church Of The Resurrection Of St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish in Marmora, New Jersey, where friends may call from 9 o’clock until the time of the service. To honor Maryanne’s legacy, the family requests that any donations be made to the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) in Maryanne’s name.
