Mary Josephine Jones (Nee Fahl) 92, of Tempe, Arizona passed away on September 30, 2025 at her residence.
Mary was born on December 18, 1932, in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late Rev Charles and Rosa Fahl. She was preceded in death by her adoring husband, Denzil, and also by her parents; her brothers Robert, Donald and twin brother Joseph; her sister Elma Hess.
Mary is survived by her 3 loving children; Patricia Curington (David), Michael Jones (Sherry) and Timothy Jones (Karen); grandchildren Tracy Curington (April), Amy Sturm (Andrew), Timothy Curington (Karla), Russell Curington (Erin), Dallas Sessions (Riley), Danielle Keeling (Wes), and Gretchyn Jones; 25 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary was known for her generous, kind and fun loving spirit. She was a dedicated Christian and a faithful prayer warrior for so many.
Mary grew up serving others in her community and the Grace Bible Church in Springfield, MO where her father pastored for over 40 years.
She married the love of her life, Denzil, in 1953, and the couple were married for almost 72 years.
Mary is a breast-cancer survivor of almost 50 years.
Mary retired from the English department of Arizona State University after serving the professors there for 15 years.
Mary’s pride and joy were her children and grandchildren. Though most of these lived in other parts of the world, Mary never ceased to remember each holiday or birthday. Each child or grandchild knew without a doubt that they were loved and prayed for by their mom / grandma. Her legacy is one of Christ honoring joy, service and love for all who knew her.

Funeral visitation will take place at the Messinger Indian School Mortuary in Scottsdale, Arizona on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 from 9:30am-10:30am. A graveside service will follow at the National Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix, Arizona at 11:00am-11:30am.
