Mary Johnson

Mary Jean “Marijean” Johnson, 83, of Stratford, passed away in the early morning hours of Monday, July 14, 2025 at Wells Nature View in Marshfield under the care of St. Croix Hospice.

Per her wishes, there will be no funeral services.

Marijean was born March 23, 1942 to Joseph and Stella (Laessig) Hekedish in Stratford, Wisconsin.

She attended Stratford Schools and Mid-State Technical College. She was married to Gordon Johnson for 54 years when he passed away.

She was employed at Shopko in Marshfield retiring in 2005. She then volunteered at the Marathon County Historical Society for 5 years.

She was an avid quilter and a former member of the Piecemakers Quilt Guild in Marshfield, Wisconsin. She enjoyed ATV riding and new technology.

She is survived by her son, Scott Johnson of Stratford and her grandson, Jeremi Johnson. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband and her son, Randy “RJ” Johnson.
